Beyond Positivity: The Deeper Layers of Self-Confidence

In our last blog, we discussed the power of a positive mindset. I mentioned that it is only the baseline for building your self-confidence. I want my clients to know that self-confidence is more than feeling good about outward appearance. To have a positive mindset, you must recondition your thought processes because our brain’s default is negative and leans towards reflecting on the worst possible scenarios.

However, it’s not the whole picture. Here are four other areas you need to be aware of to change your mindset so you can overcome self-doubt and conquer procrastination:

Self-confidence is also closely tied to self-efficacy, the belief in your ability to achieve specific goals or tasks. It’s not merely about feeling good about who you are but having faith in your ability to accomplish your goals. Self-efficacious individuals think positively about themselves but take actionable steps toward their goals.

2.Resilience

Self-confidence involves resilience, the ability to bounce back from setbacks and failures. A genuinely self-confident person doesn’t let occasional disappointments or criticisms shatter their confidence. 3.Self-Awareness
